Aquatics Programs

The city of la Habra swim program will be in full swing this summer, with new and returning events! As in the past, there will be swim lessons for children and open swim for all ages. There also will be Dive-In movies, where participants can cool off in or next to the pool while watching a family friendly movie. The aquatics staff will also staff the kids' zone at the concerts in the park this summer.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons for youth are offered from beginning to advanced levels at the La Habra High School pool, 801 W. Highlander Ave., from mid-June through August. The La Habra Swim Program was developed to teach children water safety in a calm, safe, fun environment.  We follow the American Red Cross Learn to Swim approach, implementing the stepping stone method, which places children into the appropriate skill level classes for the quickest possible progression.  Class sessions last for two weeks and are held Monday-Thursday in 40-minute sessions.  The cost is $65 per child, per two-week session.  You can register in person at the La Habra Community Center, over the phone, or online.  Additional fees apply for phone and online registration. Here is the 2017 swim lesson schedule:

  • June 5th-June 15th
  • June 19th-June 29th
  • July 3rd-July 13th (no class on Tuesday, July 4th)
  • July 17th-July 27th
Not sure which class is appropriate for your child?  Attend the Aquatics Swim Testing Open House on Saturday, May 20, 2017 1:00-3:00 p.m.
