Remember to Remove Trash Containers Promptly
In order to preserve the health, safety and beauty of La Habra, please remember to remove your trash containers from public view promptly. Trash cans may be placed on the curb in front of the residence where the trash was generated beginning at 4:00 p.m. on the day before trash collection. Trash containers must be removed from public view by 10:00 p.m. on trash collection day.
At all other times, trash containers, garbage cans, boxes and other like storage containers may not be placed on the curb or on the property where they are visible from the street. Containers that are visible to the public are detrimental to public health, safety, property values and general welfare. Trash containers left out past the deadline can also impede the street sweeper's ability to clean the streets. The storage and visibility of trash containers is identified in the La Habra Municipal Code, Section 18.77.040 C 7.
On occasion, residents may have the need for dumpsters or larger storage bins. These may be located in front yard areas if:
1) the resident has an active building permit that covers excavation, construction or demolition operations;
2) it is for a period of time that does not exceed seventy-two (72) hours for general cleanup of the property.
