Welcome to the City of La Habra Recreation Division!
WE PROVIDE:
*Youth and Adult Classes: These classes include a variety of dance, physical fitness and personal enrichment activities, are self-supported through user fees, and are offered to meet the needs and interests of La Habra residents. *Excursions: Excursions include day trips to attractions such as the the Getty Villa at Malibu, Disney Concert Hall, Solvang, Lake Arrowhead, Pageant of the Masters, local performances of current Broadway plays, and more. Single day trips to gambling casinos include San Manuel, Harrah's Rincon, Viejas, and Pechanga, as well as a Saturday turnaround to Stateline. Overnight trips are offered to Las Vegas and Laughlin, as well as to California's Central Coast, Death Valley and San Francisco. The Department also partners with Collette Vacations and Premier Discovery to offer extended national and international trips. Click here for a list of current trips. *Special Events: Spring Family Eggstravaganza, Annual La Habra 5K/10K Run, summer Concerts in the Park series, 4th of July, and Veterans Day.
*Low Cost Summer Day Camp: Day camp is offered for ten weeks each summer and provides the opportunity for full week or single day enrollment. Each week the participants go on an excursion, and the cost of the excursion is included in the weekly fee for those that attend for the full week. Enrollment fees are very reasonable and include both regular day and full day rates. For more information and the forms needed to register for day camp, please click here.
*Summer Aquatic Program: Swim lessons for youth are offered from beginning to advanced levels at the La Habra High School pool from mid-June through August. The Department also provides recreational swim time with certified lifeguards at the same pool. Please click here for more information on our summer aquatics programs.
*Youth Sports Leagues: "Spike It Up" Winter Youth Volleyball
*Youth Excursions: Youth excursions are offered in the summer only and include trips to local attractions and beaches.
*Park and Field Use: The Recreation Division manages the use of City parks by individuals, as well as coordinating the joint use of City and school athletic fields with the various school districts in the City, working closely with local non-profit organizations such as Little League, AYSO, and Pop Warner.
*Facility Rentals: Recreation Services offers facility rentals for banquets and meetings at four separate facilities within the City. For more information on facilitiy rentals, please call Alicia Kautz at (562) 905-9708.
