A Message from the Director
Your Community Services Department strives to touch you and your family's lives in different ways through our diverse Recreation, Youth, Family, Senior and Social Services programs and special events. We work with the community to create and operate safe family-oriented celebrations and activities for all to enjoy. We produce programs and events that are culturally, physically and socially engaging that enrich the lives of residents. We also ensure that supportive services are available for those in need.
The Community Services Department includes seven divisions: Child Development, the Children's Museum, O.C. Youth Center, Recreation, Social & Senior Services, Facilities & Rentals, and City Building Maintenance. Each division provides a variety of specialty programs that benefit the community. We encourage you to visit each program's web page by clicking on the links to the left to learn more about our department, upcoming programs and all that we have to offer.
The Community Services Department became a Healthy Eating Active Living (HEAL) City to encourage and support improved eating and exercise habits. The Move More, Eat Healthy campaign will be presenting programs and activities for us all to participate in to become healthier as a community.
We look forward to seeing you enjoying quality family and leisure time in the Community! Whether you are visiting the Children's Museum or a park, enjoying a summer concert or a movie in the park, participating in our recreation classes, aquatics programs, senior citizen or social service programs, or enrolled in the preschool or Head Start Child Development programs, you will have the opportunity to have a healthy and positive experience in La Habra. Please contact us if you have any questions or suggestions regarding our programs or events.
